Merchants
Merchant onboarding
Create a store and register the wallet that receives payments.
Who this is for
Anyone creating a new Outpay merchant account for the first time.
Before you begin
- Your store's name and, optionally, a short description.
- An EVM wallet you control on Base, and the ability to sign a message with it (either a browser wallet extension, or a manually pasted signature).
Create your store
Open the Outpay Dashboard and create your account.
Enter the store name and optional description.
Enter the EVM wallet address you control for Base payments.
Sign the wallet-ownership challenge. Outpay validates the address format, its checksum, the signature, and the timestamp before accepting it.
Review the store details and finish onboarding.
Verify before accepting payments
Confirm the wallet address character-by-character against your treasury records. Customers send funds directly to this address — a wrong wallet is not something Outpay can delay or reverse.
Expected result
Your store is created, and your payout wallet is registered and verified. You can now create checkouts and payment links from the Dashboard.
Common problems
| Problem | Likely cause | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet signature is rejected | The signature was signed more than a few minutes after the challenge was issued, or with the wrong wallet. | Regenerate the challenge and sign it promptly with the exact wallet you entered. |
| Onboarding cannot be completed | Required store or wallet fields are missing or invalid. | Confirm the wallet address matches the required format and try again. |
You can update the payout wallet later from Settings. That path requires a fresh ownership signature and should be treated as a high-impact access event — see payout wallet.
